A unique piece of New Zealand's heritage, meticulously captured on a fused and slumped glass canvas. This design brings to the fore the iconic Kiwi bird, a symbol deeply interwoven into the fabric of Aotearoa. In the backdrop, the spiral shape of the Ponga Koru (Silver Fern Furl) is displayed gracefully, emblematic of new life, growth, strength, and peace.

The Kiwi, is not just a bird native to our shores but also the moniker by which New Zealanders proudly identify themselves worldwide. This flightless bird represents resilience, uniqueness, and a deep connection to the land.

The deep green glass, inspired by the lush New Zealand bush, provides a rich contrast and depth to the piece, echoing the dense forests where the Kiwi often resides.

Our glassware is a testament to the profound beauty of this portrayal and the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into each piece. Starting with a hand-cut 5mm glass base, our artisans screen print the emblematic Kiwi and the Ponga Koru design. This piece is then fired in an electric kiln where the glass is fused together and gently slumped into molds, giving it a delicate concave form that captures light in fascinating ways.

Complementing this is a stand, designed to evoke the curves of the graceful Ponga Koru, ensuring that your piece is displayed in the grandeur it deserves. We laser-cut the stand in house from New Zealand made board.
